About the role Reporting to the Assistant Financial Controller, you will play an integral role in supporting the day to day financial operations of Stamford Plaza Melbourne. This is a diverse, hands on role that provides exposure across a broad range of finance functions,



including financial administration, reconciliations, month-end processes, reporting, internal controls and operational finance. Working closely with both the Finance team and operational departments, you will help ensure the hotel's financial records are accurate, compliant and completed within required timeframes.

This position is ideal for someone looking to broaden their accounting experience within a dynamic hospitality environment while developing their career with a leading hotel group.

Key responsibilities - Assist with the day to day financial operations of the hotel.

- Perform reconciliations, journals and financial transactions accurately and within required timeframes.
- Support month end and year end accounting processes, including accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, banking and income audit functions as required.
- Review financial transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Assist in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
- Prepare reports and provide financial information to assist operational departments and management.
- Monitor outstanding accounts, supplier invoices and purchase orders.




- Support internal control processes and assist with periodic financial audits.
- Work collaboratively with operational departments to resolve finance related queries.
- Undertake general finance and administrative duties as required. About you - Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
- Previous experience in a Finance Officer, Assistant Accountant or similar accounting role.
- Hospitality or hotel finance experience will be highly regarded but is not essential.
- Sound understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
- Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience using accounting software SUN Systems highly regarded but not essential.
- Experience using front office software Opera Cloud highly regarded but not essential.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast paced workplace.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build positive working relationships across all levels of the business.
- A proactive, positive attitude and commitment to maintaining confidentiality and integrity.
