Kinder Caring is seeking experienced, reliable and quality-focused gardening contractors to provide gardening and basic outdoor maintenance services at the homes of older people receiving funded in-home aged care services across the Lake Macquarie area.

This chance is suitable for both individual gardening contractors and small gardening businesses looking to expand their in-home client base. It is ideal for experienced providers who value flexibility, autonomy and meaningful work—whether you want to grow your business or complement your existing client commitments.

Reliability is essential. We are looking for contractors who attend services as agreed, communicate promptly if circumstances change and consistently complete work to a high standard.

About the opportunity

Provide quality gardening services that help older people maintain safe, accessible and manageable outdoor areas and continue living independently at home.

Through the Kinder Caring App, approved gardeners can select their preferred service areas, view and choose client opportunities that suit their availability, experience and business capacity, and set their own rates.

Opportunities may include regular, seasonal and one-off services.

Gardening services may include





- Routine lawn and garden maintenance
- Light pruning, weeding and vegetation management
- Keeping pathways, entrances and frequently used outdoor areas safe and accessible
- General tidying associated with the gardening service
- Identifying and reporting outdoor hazards or maintenance needs outside the agreed service scope

Services focus on essential gardening and outdoor maintenance that supports safety, accessibility and independent living. General landscaping, garden redesign, major garden clean-ups and improvements undertaken primarily for aesthetic purposes are not included.

Contractor responsibilities

- Attend accepted services reliably and provide the agreed gardening work to a high standard
- Notify Kinder Caring promptly if a service may be delayed or cannot proceed
- Work safely, protect clients and their property, and leave the service area tidy and presentable
- Treat clients respectfully and maintain their dignity, privacy and confidentiality
- Supply and safely maintain suitable tools, equipment and personal protective equipment
- Only undertake work within your experience, qualifications and applicable licensing requirements
- Record attendance and required service information through the Kinder Caring App
- Promptly report incidents, hazards, property damage or other relevant concerns
- Maintain all required registrations, screening clearances, licences and insurances

Requirements

Applicants must have

- Demonstrated residential or commercial gardening experience
- A proven record of reliability,



punctuality and high-quality workmanship, with robust attention to detail
- The ability to work independently, manage appointments and communicate proactively, respectfully and professionally with clients
- An active ABN and the legal right to work and provide services in Australia, together with appropriate public liability insurance and workers compensation insurance where applicable
- A current National Police Check and any other aged-care screening clearance required for the services, or willingness to obtain them
- Reliable transport to travel between clients’ homes across [region], including a valid driver licence and appropriately registered and insured vehicle where required
- Suitable professional gardening tools, equipment and personal protective equipment, together with the knowledge and ability to operate equipment and handle garden products safely
- The physical capacity to safely perform gardening duties
- A smartphone with reliable internet access
- Two relevant professional or business references

Pay: $60.00 – $80.00 per hour
