The Opportunity:

The General Manager – Construction, is responsible for overseeing the smooth operation of all of Soul Origin design, store fit-out and construction requirements. A key member of the Development team, this role is the custodian for managing and overseeing the construction team, ensuring all new store and refurbishments are completed on time and on budget, tendering and procurement of fit-outs and store equipment, implementation of repair and maintenance processes and procedures, safety and compliance of store fit-outs and construction processes, evolution of the Soul Origin store design, and integration of the construction department with other key departments within the Soul Origin Business – with a key emphasis on collaboration with Store Operations and Marketing/Brand functions.

- Being a passionate and driven construction project professional with a strong background in QSR construction, shopfitting and fast paced retail environment.

- Managing, mentoring and leading teams - providing managerial support and direction for all members of the construction team, including overseeing personal development and KPIs of each team member within the construction team

- Ensuring construction processes are followed and implement process improvement where required

- Ensuring compliance with building codes,



WHS requirements, and Soul Origin’s operational standards

- Driving value engineering and cost management, balancing efficiency with design integrity

- Oversight and implementation of improved CAPEX and cost management process, protocols and governance

- Supporting and collaborating with internal teams – including Leasing, Operations, Marketing, and Brand – to bring each store to life

We would love to hear from you if you have:

- 10 years demonstrated experience in retail store development and project management, including QSR projects

- Minimum 5 years’ experience in managing the design, construction and fit out of Drive Thru QSR Tenancies

- Advanced knowledge of building practice, estimating, tendering, and administration of contracts

- Leadership of a construction focused team

- Strong industry networks and relationships relevant to Soul Origin’s core business

- Strong budgeting and fiscal management skills

- Demonstrated strong ability to interpret store design and construction packs
