About the Organisation

Our client is a leading organisation operating within the Australian energy and utilities sector. As the business continues to grow and invest in critical infrastructure, it is seeking an experienced General Manager – Risk & Compliance to lead and mature its enterprise-wide risk, governance and compliance capability.

Reporting to the General Counsel & Company Secretary, this is a strategic leadership role partnering closely with the Executive Leadership Team and Board to ensure risk management supports informed decision-making and sustainable growth.

Location - Sydney or Melbourne

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of the Enterprise Risk Management Framework.
- Oversee governance, risk and compliance frameworks, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and regulatory obligations.
- Provide trusted risk advice to the Executive Leadership Team, Board and Board Committees.
- Partner with operational and corporate leaders to identify, assess and manage strategic, operational and project risks.




- Build and lead a high-performing Risk & Compliance function while embedding a strong risk culture across the organisation.

Skills & Experience

- Extensive experience leading Enterprise Risk within a complex organisation.
- Proven ability to design, implement and embed enterprise risk frameworks.
- Strong governance experience with exposure to Boards, Board Committees and Executive stakeholders.
- Commercially astute with the ability to influence, challenge and drive organisational change.
- Experience within the energy, utilities and or infrastructure is essential.
