Junior Employee Rates: Under 17

- 50%; 17 years old
- 60%; 18 years old
- 70%; 19 years old
- 80%; 20 years old
- 90%

- Salary Range 2026: $59,430 - $75,095 (pro-rata) depending on qualifications and experience. Plus superannuation contribution of 12% of annual salary
- Annual Leave: 10 weeks

Introduction

NT Christian Schools is a Christian organisation that exists to advance the Christian religion through the provision of education and religious instruction. All staff will be required to deliver or contribute to religious education, to lead or assist in the conduct of religious services and otherwise engage in religious practices and observances (including leading prayers or devotions and sharing testimonies) with staff and students. It is a genuine occupational requirement that applicants hold and act consistently with the religious beliefs of NT Christian Schools as articulated in the organisation's policies and procedures.

Staff are expected to have a clear understanding of, and unqualified commitment to, the biblical basis of the school’s ethos. The role requires practising, delivering and contributing to religious education in a manner consistent with school policies and modelling a life consistent with those beliefs.



This includes supporting the teaching of the Australian curriculum from a biblical worldview, participating in and leading staff and student devotions and prayer time, and sharing personal testimony.

Modelling an authentic Christian life is a core requirement of the position.

All employees are required to be committed to ensuring child safety, health and wellbeing practices are followed and upheld in accordance with NT Christian Schools policy and current legislation.

General Expectations

Primary Role

As a Teacher Aide, you will support the delivery of high-quality educational services by assisting teachers, students and parents with learning tasks and administrative responsibilities in a nurturing school setting. The Teacher Aide is accountable to the Principal or their designated representative. The Principal may adjust reporting structures as required.

Key responsibilities include:

- Witnessing to the beliefs articulated in NT Christian Schools policies by modelling an authentic life of faith
- Contributing to the spiritual life of the school through participation in religious services, prayers, devotions and sharing testimony
- Modelling an appropriate Christian lifestyle in and out of school
- Maintaining the capacity to be an active team member and working collaboratively




- Providing general assistance of a supportive nature to teachers as directed
- Assisting student learning individually or in groups under direct supervision
- Assisting with clerical duties associated with classroom activities (student records, equipment records, reporting, learning plans)
- Providing assistance with the educational program where limited discretion and specific skills are required
- Assisting with evaluation and assessment of student learning needs under teacher supervision
- Displaying respect and empathy for students with high needs, maintaining confidentiality, tact and sensitivity with students and families
- Contributing to the welfare, health and safety of students, including delivery of first aid
- Attending and participating in team meetings and Education Adjustment Plan reviews as requested
- Supporting teachers with student care on excursions, sports days and other activities, occasionally outside normal hours
- Participating in individual and group student support activities, including according to individual support plans for students with special needs
- Performing additional duties as assigned

Selection Criteria

Essential

- A committed Christian actively involved in a local church
- Proven ability to model Christian values as expressed in NT Christian Schools policies and to give an authentic witness to those values
- Ability or willingness to draw upon the beliefs articulated in NT Christian Schools policies to prepare an environment and culture of biblical perspective that enhances outcomes for students
- Experience in, or willingness to learn, technology including computers, online platforms and data management software
- Capacity to work as a constructive member of a cohesive team with excellent written and verbal communication skills

Desirable

- Experience working in a school setting
- Experience with Technology One, Canvas, Compass, Edval

Further Requirements

- Must hold a valid Working with Children (Ochre) Card
- Must have a valid NT police check within the last 12 months or invoice of order for one
- Must hold a current NT Driver’s License
- Must hold a current First Aid Certificate or be willing to obtain one
