Workforce Mobility Lead

Your new role
JointhePeople Strategy and Operations divisionfor12-months to support workforce mobility, there are twopositions availablethat will work as a small team with a shared VPS4 resource.
Workforce Mobility Lead – PeopleServices
Customerand processfocusedLead will sit in thePeople Servicesteam.This role willlead functionssupportingtheefficient delivery ofend-to-endpeopleservicesforemployees.The Leadwillberesponsible formaintainingand reporting on data for unattachedemployees in the programandsupporting the redeployment function.
Workforce Mobility Lead – Policy & Workplace Relations
Policy andprocedurefocused Lead will sit in thePolicy andStrategyteam.This role will lead functions supporting thepolicy framework and department obligationsforsurplusemployees. This role willbe responsible forthe management ofunattachedemployee's and supporting theredeploymentapproach for the department.
The Workforce Mobility Lead role will:
- Deliver redeployment programsby building collaborative stakeholder relationships, communicating status of employees and overall program outcomes.
- Proactively engage with surplus employees, hiring managers and key stakeholders,providingsound recruitment advice, data analytics and reporting, and ensuring a seamless experience for all parties.
- Identifyandmaintainstandard operatingguidelines forredeploymentprograms
- Apply knowledge of departmental and VPS common policies,frameworks, and employment agreements to ensure fair and compliant recruitment outcomes.
- Proactivelyidentify, investigate, and resolve complexpeopleissues using sound judgment, initiative,accountabilityand strategic problem solving.
- Utilise strong written and verbal communication to collaborate with the broader team to respond to a diverse range ofpolicy,recruitmentrequestsand queries withina timelymanner.
- Support leadership and the broader team by championing change and contributing to continuous process improvementswith workforce mobility at the core.
About you
The successful candidateswillpossess:
- Demonstrated experience in managingpeople, policies,processesand systemssuch aseduPay, Springboard, ServiceNow, or related HR systems.
- Demonstrated experienceand understandingmanagingworkforce change and impacts including Machinery ofGovernment,from a policy and process perspective, includingredeploymentand end-to-end recruitmentactivity.
- Lead a small team andlead collaboration with teams in thePeople,Strategy andOperationsDivisionon sensitivepeople cases.
- The ability to work independently and collaboratively asrequired, balancing an autonomous portfolio whilstmaintainingcollaborative team relationships.
- High attention to detail, with strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to manage sensit ive information with discretion.
- Excellent relationship-building skills with the ability to influence, guide, and supportemployees andhiring managers.
- Sound judgment and strong prioritisation skills,
withtheability to interpret complex informationand communicate advice clearly and confidently.
- Demonstrated capability in analysing issues, troubleshooting, and recommending evidence-based solutions.
- Agile mindset with experience supporting change initiatives, systemenhancementsor process improvements.
Knowledge and understanding ofVPSpolicies, procedures, and practices is highly desirable.
