- Clerk Grade 11/12, salary from $154,231 plus superannuation and leave loading
This role offers flexible, people-first working conditions:
- 35‑hour base working week
- Flexible start and finish times between 6am and 10pm , with core hours of 10am–3pm
- Flex time , allowing additional hours worked to be accrued and taken back as flex leave
- Generous leave arrangements , including carers’, parental and adoption leave
- Four weeks recreation leave as standard .
About the role
NSW Public Works (NSW PW) is part of the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development and supports many different local and state government agencies to deliver critical infrastructure initiatives by providing expert advisory, planning, design, delivery and support services.
We are seeking a Senior Program Manager with experience in the delivery of infrastructure to join NSW Public Works (NSWPW) in our Coffs Harbour.
You will lead a multidisciplinary team of in-house project and construction managers to deliver infrastructure projects and/or programs which will include the management of resources, budgets, programs and stakeholders/clients. Typical projects will involve design management, procurement and construction management of NSW Government and Local Government infrastructure assets. This is an opportunity for a senior leader to join our management team and play an integral role in developing and delivering commercial and strategic objectives.

About you
To be considered for this role you will have:
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- A strong commitment to excellence in project delivery, client engagement, business development, and people leadership.
- Highly developed stakeholder engagement and relationship management capabilities gained through senior client-facing roles across government and private sector environments.
- A proven ability to develop trusted client relationships, negotiate successful outcomes, and identify and secure business opportunities.
- Experience leading teams and managing project portfolios within the construction industry.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to foster collaboration, inspire teams, and support the growth and development of staff.
- Demonstrated experience in the planning, development, and delivery of diverse infrastructure assets, including water, transport, waste, and building projects.
- Extensive expertise in capital works and infrastructure project management, design management, NSW Government procurement processes, and contractor management.
- Sound knowledge and practical experience in Construction Procurement Assurance, particularly MW21 and GC21 contract frameworks.
- A minimum of five years' experience in a senior management position within the commercial construction sector.
- Proven success managing construction projects and programs within complex, live 24/7 operational environments, such as NSW Health facilities.
- Additional qualifications in Project Management will be highly regarded.
- A solid understanding of current Work Health and Safety legislation, regulations, and best practices.
- Strong computer literacy and proficiency in the use of digital technologies, software applications, and business systems.
- A current NSW Driver Licence and a willingness to travel to regional locations, including overnight stays when required
