Sports Field Groundsman – Part-Time Permanent

About the Position

We are seeking a reliable, motivated and experienced Sports Field Groundsman to join our team on a part-time permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in turf management, horticulture, grounds maintenance or greenkeeping who takes pride in maintaining high-quality sports fields and surrounding facilities.

The successful applicant will play an important role in ensuring our grounds are presented to a high standard, maintained safely and kept ready for regular training, competition and community use.

Key Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include:

- Routine mowing and maintenance of sports fields and surrounding grounds
- Turf management, including fertilising, weed control and general turf-care practices
- Sports-field preparation and presentation for games and training
- Line marking and maintaining accurate field markings
- General horticultural and garden maintenance
- Irrigation system monitoring and basic maintenance
- Identifying and reporting turf, irrigation, drainage and general grounds issues
- Operating and maintaining grounds maintenance equipment
- General maintenance of grounds, facilities and outdoor areas
- Ensuring grounds and facilities are clean, safe and presented to a high standard
- Carrying out seasonal and scheduled maintenance programs




- Assisting with other grounds and facility maintenance as required

About You

We are looking for someone who:
- Has previous experience in horticulture, greenkeeping or sports-field maintenance
- Has a genuine interest in maintaining quality sporting surfaces
- Is reliable, punctual and takes pride in their work
- Can work independently and manage daily maintenance requirements
- Has positive attention to detail
- Is physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Can safely operate grounds maintenance machinery and equipment
- Has good communication skills and a positive, practical attitude
- Understands the importance of maintaining safe and playable sports facilities
