Head of Theatrical Performance (Years 7–12)

We are seeking an inspiring educator and leader to join our Plenty Campus as Head of Theatrical Performance.

This is a full-time (1.0 FTE), ongoing opportunity commencing as soon as possible. The role includes a three-year Level 4 Position of Leadership appointment, combined with an ongoing teaching position.

You will teach Years 7-12 Drama and Theatre, including VCE Drama and Theatre Studies, while leading the continued growth of our classroom and co-curricular theatre program.

Working closely with the Director of Theatrical Performance and the wider Arts team, you will shape curriculum, mentor colleagues, lead productions and create outstanding performance opportunities for students.

What you will do The Head of Theatrical Performance is a key leader within our Arts Faculty and Plenty Campus community. Reporting to the Deputy Principal – Head of Plenty Campus and working closely with the Director of Theatrical Performance and Head of Pedagogy – Arts,



you will lead the continued development of our Drama program while inspiring students through outstanding classroom practice and exceptional performance opportunities.

You have the experience, knowledge and passion to:

- Lead the Years 7–12 Drama curriculum, including VCE Drama and Theatre Studies, ensuring high-quality teaching and meaningful learning experiences.

- Direct and produce the Plenty Campus Junior and Senior School productions, creating memorable theatrical experiences that engage and inspire students.

- Coach, mentor and support Drama teachers and theatre staff, fostering a collaborative culture of continuous improvement and skilled growth.

- Shape a vibrant co-curricular theatre program that encourages broad student participation and celebrates creativity, performance and artistic excellence.

- Build positive relationships with students, families and colleagues, contributing to a culture of high expectations, wellbeing and belonging.

- Work collaboratively across the Arts Faculty and wider School community to strengthen curriculum, productions and student opportunities.

- Contribute to the strategic direction of Theatrical Performance through innovation, reflective practice and a commitment to excellence.

Who you are

You are a reflective and purposeful educator who believes that learning and character are deeply connected. You value the potential of every learner and understand that high expectations and robust relationships create the conditions for growth and personal success.

You bring

- Experience as a VCE teacher, holding a relevant qualification, ideally with postgraduate qualifications in Education, Curriculum or Pedagogy.

- Proven experience as a Drama or Theatre Studies teacher, ideally including VCE Drama and Theatre Studies.





- Experience leading theatre productions, with strong knowledge of stagecraft, staging and production management.

- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with students, staff, parents and community partners.

- Demonstrated commitment to child safety and inclusive practice, including a valid VIT registration.

- A solutions-focused mindset, high professional standards and a commitment to character education.
