We're seeking a Data Scientist to join the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER), working within the Data Science and Automation Program .
This role focuses on developing and delivering AI-enabled data science solutions, transforming proof-of-concept ideas into practical tools that support ACER's assessment, analytics and reporting capabilities.
What You'll Do
- Develop data science solutions using AI, machine learning and NLP
- Support the delivery of proof-of-concept projects through to operational implementation
- Work with complex datasets to generate insights and improve decision making
- Develop analytical products and reporting solutions
- Collaborate with IT to implement scalable cloud-based solutions
- Apply responsible AI principles and contribute to model governance
- Support testing, validation and ongoing monitoring of data science products
- Contribute to innovation and continuous improvement across ACER
What You'll Bring
- 3+ years' experience in data science, AI or advanced analytics
- Strong Python and/or R programming skills
- Experience applying machine learning, NLP or AI techniques
- Experience working with SQL and complex datasets
- Knowledge of AWS, Azure or modern cloud-based technologies
- Solid communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Master's degree, PhD or equivalent experience in a relevant field
