Infrastructure Services (ISG) brings together Council's asset management, infrastructure planning, design, project management, construction, services, maintenance and transport operations activities.

The Role

We are looking for 2 x Arboriculture Technical Officers to join our team and help manage Council's tree assets across the city.

In this role, you will provide expert arboriculture advice, undertake tree condition and risk assessments, investigate complex tree-related matters, and ensure works are delivered in line with Council requirements and Australian Standards.

You will work closely with residents, contractors and internal stakeholders to resolve customer enquiries, manage escalated issues, support insurance claim investigations, and prepare technical reports and work scopes.

This is a varied role with approximately 65% field-based work and 35% office-based work. You will conduct site inspections, coordinate with external service providers, maintain accurate asset information, and support the delivery of work programs through reporting, planning and continuous improvement initiatives.





This is a great opportunity for an experienced arboriculture professional who enjoys both hands-on field work and technical problem-solving.

To be successful you will have:

- demonstrated experience in commercial and/or municipal arboriculture and arboriculture asset management
- extensive experience undertaking tree condition and risk assessments, including complex inspections involving external providers
- strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills, with experience managing escalations, conflict resolution and customer enquiries
- experience preparing technical reports, briefs, scopes of works and management reporting
- knowledge of Australian Standards and arboriculture best practices
- proven ability to manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes within agreed timeframes
- Certificate III in Horticulture (Arboriculture) or equivalent
- possession of a current driver’s licence.
