Roster: Three swings – 25 days onsite (including 1 fatigue day) plus 3 travel days per swing

Pay Rate: AUD $5,000 per week

About the Role

Pacific Energy Group is seeking experienced High Voltage Linesmen to join our team on a major Fibre Optic Installation Project in Papua Recent Guinea.

The project involves the installation of ADSS (All-Dielectric Self-Supporting) fibre optic cable on existing 132kV transmission line infrastructure. This role is suited to motivated individuals who enjoy working in remote locations and delivering critical infrastructure projects safely and efficiently.

Key Duties:

- Installation of ADSS fibre optic cable on transmission towers.
- Installation of fibre brackets, hardware, rollers and fittings.
- Stringing and tensioning of fibre optic cable.
- Tower climbing and working at heights.
- EWP operations and elevated work activities.
- Installation and removal of stringing equipment.
- Conducting inspections and quality assurance checks.
- Working safely around high-voltage transmission infrastructure.
- Completing daily safety documentation and toolbox meetings.
- Assisting with project mobilisation and demobilisation activities.

Essential Requirements:

- Qualified High Voltage Linesman.
- Proven experience in transmission or distribution line construction.
- First Aid and CPR.
- Current Driver's Licence.
- Working at Heights certification.
- White Card (or equivalent construction induction).
- Ability to pass pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening.
- Current Passport.
- EWP Licence.
- ADSS fibre installation experience (advantageous but not essential).
- Dogging and/or Rigging Licence (advantageous but not essential).
- Previous PNG, mining, or remote-site experience is advantageous but not essential.




- Strong commitment to workplace safety and teamwork.

What We Offer:

- AUD $5,000 per week.
- Three planned project swings: 25 days onsite per swing, including one fatigue-management day within those 25 days, plus 3 travel days and scheduled R&R; between swings.
- Flights, accommodation and meal allowance provided.
- Opportunity to work on ongoing Tier 1 mining and international infrastructure projects.

Indicative Project Roster The project is planned across three swings. Each swing comprises 25 days onsite, including one fatigue-management day within those 25 onsite days, plus 3 travel days. Team members will otherwise work 7 days per week while onsite. The dates and work program below are indicative and may change to meet operational requirements.

Period Dates & Planned Activities

Swing 1

5 Sep – 2 Oct 2026

Week 1: inductions, training, and preparation.

Week 2: strengthening works.

Week 3: preparation and TPO works, scheduled 24–27 Sep.

Final activities: tidy-up and close-out.

Includes 1 fatigue-management day within the 25 onsite days.

R&R;

3–10 Oct 2026

8 days of rest and recreation.

Swing 2

12 Oct – 6 Nov 2026

ADSS fibre optic cable installation.

Includes 1 fatigue-management day within the 25 onsite days.

R&R;

7–14 Nov 2026

8 days of rest and recreation.

Swing 3

14 Nov – 11 Dec 2026

Week 1: ADSS installation.

Week 2: preparation and shutdown works, scheduled 23–26 Nov.

Week 3: ADSS installation and tidy-up.

Includes 1 fatigue-management day within the 25 onsite days.

Note: The fatigue-management day is included within the 25 onsite days and is not an additional day. Its timing, along with TPO and shutdown dates, remains subject to site and operational requirements.
