House Manager – Supported Independent Living (NDIS)
Toowoomba, QLD Permanent Full-Time
$90,000 – $100,000 + Superannuation
Experienced SIL Leaders – We'd Like to Hear From You
UpCare Disability Services is seeking an experienced House Manager to join our growing leadership team and oversee a portfolio of Supported Independent Living (SIL) homes and community participants across the Toowoomba region, with periodic travel to the Sunshine Coast. This is a permanent leadership opportunity for an experienced operational manager who enjoys leading people, developing high-performing teams, solving problems and delivering exceptional participant outcomes.
We're looking for someone who can confidently step into an established portfolio and become a valued member of our leadership team for the long term.
About UpCare
UpCare is a registered NDIS provider specialising in Supported Independent Living (SIL) and Community Access across Queensland, Victoria, New South Wales, South Australia, Tasmania and the Northern Territory. Our reputation has been built on delivering stable, person-centred services, maintaining high standards of care and creating homes where people genuinely want to live.
As we continue to grow, we're looking for experienced leader who shares our commitment to quality, accountability and continuous improvement.
About the Role
As House Manager, you will provide operational leadership across multiple Supported Independent Living homes and community participants within your portfolio. You will lead and support Disability Support Workers, maintain participant outcomes, build strong relationships with families and stakeholders, ensure compliance with NDIS Practice Standards and contribute to the ongoing success and stability of our services.
Unlike many similar roles, UpCare has a dedicated rostering function. This allows you to focus on leading your teams, supporting participants, maintaining service quality and developing staff rather than managing day-to-day roster administration.
You will work closely with our Business Manager and fellow operational leaders while enjoying the autonomy to lead your own portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day operations of multiple Supported Independent Living homes.
- Provide leadership, coaching and supervision to Disability Support Workers.
- Build high-performing, engaged and accountable staff teams.
- Ensure participants receive safe, high-quality and person-centred supports.
- Manage participant incidents, complaints and operational issues professionally and efficiently.
- Develop positive relationships with participants, families, guardians, Support Coordinators and allied health professionals.
- Ensure compliance with NDIS Practice Standards, organisational policies and service agreements.
- Conduct staff supervision, performance management and professional development.
- Work collaboratively with our dedicated rostering team to ensure staffing aligns with participant needs.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and contribute to the ongoing growth and stability of services.
About You
You are an experienced disability services leader who enjoys developing people, building positive workplace cultures and achieving exceptional outcomes for participants. You are organised, resilient, solutions-focused and confident making operational decisions within a fast-paced disability setting.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Minimum two years' experience managing or leading disability services within the NDIS sector.
- Demonstrated experience supervising Disability Support Workers.
- Strong operational leadership and decision-making skills.
- Sound knowledge of the NDIS Practice Standards and quality requirements.
- Experience managing participant incidents and complex support environments.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Current Australian Driver Licence and willingness to travel periodically within Queensland.
- Qualifications in Disability, Community Services, Human Services or a related discipline are highly regarded; however,
significant industry experience will also be considered.
Who This Role Is Best Suited To
This position is designed for experienced operational leaders who already understand the complexities of managing Supported Independent Living services. It is likely to suit applicants currently working as a:
- House Manager

As such, this position is not intended as a first management opportunity and is unlikely to suit applicants whose experience has been limited to frontline support work, administration or non-operational roles.
Why Join UpCare?
- Permanent full-time leadership position.
- Competitive salary of $90,000–$100,000 plus superannuation, based on experience.
- Fully maintained work vehicle provided for business travel during working hours.
- Dedicated rostering support, allowing you to focus on leadership, participant outcomes and service quality.
- Supportive, experienced and accessible senior leadership team.
- Opportunity to lead established Supported Independent Living services.
- Genuine autonomy to manage your own portfolio while being supported by an experienced management team.
- A growing organisation committed to quality, stability and continuous improvement.
- Opportunity to build a long-term leadership career with UpCare.
