Master Builders Queensland

Brisbane

As a membership organisation with over 10,000 members, they are our number one priority. Working within a supportive team, you will be a trusted advisor, providing accurate, timely and practical advice predominantly over the phone or via email to our members.

This is a role for someone who already understands the realities of workplace relations advice and can confidently move between legislation, awards, member circumstances and practical business outcomes. No two days will look the same, and may include:

- Interpreting Modern Award and enterprise agreement conditions
- Drafting and preparing advice around Individual Flexibility Agreements and employment contracts
- Coaching members on disciplinary and termination processes
- Bargaining and employee consultation
- Providing support to other Advisors, including assistance with advocacy, research activities and member education.

What you will bring to the team:

We are looking for an experienced workplace relations professional who can hit the ground running. While you will be supported by the team, you will bring the confidence, judgement and practical experience needed to provide explicit advice from day one. You will have an understanding that goes beyond the textbook, with the ability to apply employment legislation and industrial instruments to real-world workplace issues.

- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Law, Human Resources, Business, Commerce or a related discipline
- Strong working knowledge of the Fair Work Act, Modern Awards and other employment relations legislation

- Demonstrated experience interpreting Modern Awards, enterprise agreements and employment contracts in a practical advisory setting
- Experience providing advice or coaching on performance management, disciplinary processes, terminations and other sensitive employment matters
- Sound numerical skills and the ability to work confidently through pay, entitlement and classification questions
- Ideally, exposure to Fair Work Commission processes, including preparation of employer responses and conciliation framework.
- While not essential, construction industry experience would be highly regarded.
