Reporting directly to the CEO of Mildura Health, the Executive General Manager – Hospital will have broad responsibility for the hospital’s clinical, operational and strategic performance. Working closely with the Board, executive colleagues, visiting medical officers and hospital leaders, you will guide the organisation through its next phase of development.
This is a highly visible leadership position with the opportunity to:
- Shape the hospital’s strategic direction and future service development.
- Strengthen clinical governance, quality, safety and patient experience.
- Build workforce capability, engagement and leadership depth.
- Drive operational performance, financial sustainability and continuous improvement.
- Develop strong partnerships with clinicians, community stakeholders and regional healthcare providers.
- Foster a culture in which people feel supported, accountable and proud of the care they provide.
We are seeking a confident and contemporary healthcare executive who combines strategic thinking with a genuine willingness to remain connected to people and day-to-day hospital operations.
You will bring significant senior leadership experience within a hospital or similarly complex healthcare environment, together with a strong understanding of clinical governance, workforce leadership, operational performance and financial management. Experience within the private hospital sector will be highly regarded, although accomplished executives from other complex healthcare settings are also encouraged to apply.
Just as importantly, you will be an open, visible and engaging leader. You will build trust through explicit communication, sound judgement and a leadership style grounded in respect, collaboration and accountability.
A leadership role with genuine regional impact
In a regional hospital, the impact of strong leadership is immediate and highly visible. Decisions influence not only the organisation, but also local patients, families, clinicians and the broader community.
Mildura offers the opportunity to enjoy a rewarding regional lifestyle in a warm climate, surrounded by the Murray River, established food and wine industries and a welcoming community. It is an opportunity to build both an influential executive career and a fulfilling life outside work.
For executives considering a move to the region, we welcome a confidential conversation about the opportunity and what relocating to Mildura could look like.
This is a rare opportunity to lead with purpose, strengthen an important regional healthcare organisation and help shape the future of private healthcare in north-west Victoria.
