About the role:

The Countering Violent Extremism (CVE) Unit aims to reduce the risk of individuals from becoming or remaining violent extremists and to address the social impacts of violent extremism.

The Communications Officer will support the CVE Unit by developing communications products for the purposes of:

- Raising awareness of violent extremism, radicalisation pathways, and available CVE supports.
- Building the resilience of communities to violent extremism.

The CVE Unit reports to the CVE Unit Inspector and sits within the Capability Division, Counter Terrorism group in Crime & Counter Terrorism Investigation Services.

About You:

The successful candidate will ideally have the following skills and experience:

- Experience using software to develop high quality presentations and other communications products.
- Experience managing projects in relation to communications/ raising awareness.
- Experience managing a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Further Information:

- One (1) x part time 0.7 FTE, fixed-term position available until 30 June 2028. Hours and working days are negotiable.
- As the position is part time, the salary plus superannuation will be pro rata.
- This position is located at Victoria Police Centre, 311 Spencer Street, Docklands.
- The successful applicant will be required to undergo National Security Vetting, achieve and maintain a security classification as determined by the Department Head. To achieve this, applicants must be an Australian Citizen.
- The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
