This is a high-visibility role, reporting directly to the Chief Information Officer and engaging with executive stakeholders.

About the Role
What you will be doing:
Leading project planning, stakeholder engagement, and delivery of Corporate System Implementation and ICT projects. Designing and managing project plans, budgets, communication strategies, and risk frameworks. Driving change management with confidence and strategic foresight. Coordinating cross-functional teams and external vendors. Presenting at executive level and preparing council/committee reports. Monitoring progress and ensuring quality outcomes are delivered on time and within budget
What You Bring
5 years of Project Management experience (PMP certification preferred)
Proven track record delivering complex IT projects. A deep understanding of stakeholder analysis, change management, and risk leadership. Crystal-clear communication skills — verbal, written, and visual. Strong analytical and documentation skills and impeccable attention to detail. A passion for collaboration and relationship building across diverse teams
You’ll Thrive If You Have:
Experience with Technology One or enterprise-level system rollouts. A degree in Business, IT, or equivalent experience. Knowledge of local government operations.
Essential Criteria
- Minimum five years of Project Management experience. PMP certification is preferred.
- Extensive experience in leading complex Information Technology projects is required.
- Knowledge of both the theoretical and practical aspects of project management.
- Understanding of financial processes; ability to understand, analyse and create financial reports.
- Extensive experience with people management, strategic planning, and change management.
- Proven experience with risk management; demonstrated ability to communicate appropriately to leadership.
- Understanding of and the ability to utilise the process of stakeholder analysis.
- Ability to work independently and thoroughly track to project timelines.
- Excellent documentation skills and attention to detail.
- Experience in effectively influencing and leading personnel and the ability to write business reports in a well-organised manner.
- Strong team building skills.
- Excellent problem solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Demonstrated communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation).
- Proficiency with project management software.
Desirable Criteria
· Experience in Corporate System Implementation using Technology One
· Bachelor's Degree in Business, IT, or related field or "equivalent experience"
· Experience in a similar role in local government.
