About the role:

The Payroll Assistant is responsible for administering and processing all manual and automated payments to staff.

Role Responsibilities:

- Prepare and Implement fortnightly payroll and administer salary and benefits against employee employment
- Ensure all documentation (timesheets, payroll change requests and other records) are received prior to close of payroll run
- Assist with payroll queries and answering email inquiries from employees and key stakeholders
- Setup new staff to the payroll system and maintain manual and computerised /digital records including leave and other payroll related records accurately
- Change payment conditions for staff
- Maintain and update salary packaging records
- Assist with calculating termination payments
- Assist with special projects upon request
- Other responsibilities and tasks as required within the team
- Comply with HR and Finance policies and procedures; comply with organisational guidelines in all statutory areas
- Ensure accurate interpretation of Awards
- Prepare payroll reports for internal and external stakeholders.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

- Attention to detail
- High degree of competence using Payroll software; experience with MicrOpay is preferred
- Ability to prioritise workload
- Excellent time management skills and highly organised

- Proactive, autonomous and capable of self-starting tasks and the ability to adapt to a changing setting.
