- Site Execution & Quality: Oversee daily site operations to ensure works strictly comply with design drawings, technical specifications, and rail standards.
- Quality Assurance: Prepare, manage, and close out Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), test reports, site diaries, and shift handover documentation.
- Safety & Compliance: Champion site safety by conducting pre-starts, managing risk assessments, and enforcing compliance with rail safety protocols.
- Subcontractor & Crew Management: Direct day-to-day site activities for workforce personnel, plant operators, and specialist subcontractors during shifts and rail occupations.
- Short-Term Planning: Collaborate with the project team to manage short-term look-ahead schedules, site logistics, material deliveries, and plant requirements.
Key Responsibilities

About You
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications in engineering or construction management are a plus (e.g., Engineer-in-Training (EIT), Construction Manager-in-Training (CMIT)).
- Minimum of 2 years engineering experience in the construction industry
- Tier 1 / Tier 2 Background: Proven track record delivering major infrastructure projects within a Tier 1 or Tier 2 principal contractor environment
- Rail Infrastructure Expertise: Extensive experience in the delivery of complex rail projects, with a strong understanding of rail construction methodologies and staging
- MTM Proficiency: Demonstrated working knowledge of Metro Trains Melbourne (MTM) Engineering Standards, Policies, and Safety Management Systems (SMS)
- Project planning skills
- Demonstrable and successful experience in a business/project operations management role gained at a similar level
- Demonstrated ability in proactively building relationships with key stakeholders
