- Oversight & Challenge Across Unlisted Asset Valuations

This is a great opportunity to join a leading industry superfund and apply your corporate finance and investment governance skills in a newly created function focused on providing second line oversight, review and challenge across a significant portfolio of unlisted investment assets.
The role will lead the day to day execution of valuation governance and controls, ensuring that valuations are fair, timely, well evidenced and accurately embedded in NAV and credit ratings processes. You will partner closely with the Investments team, in addition to Finance, Operations, Custody and external valuers and apply deep critical thinking in the delivery of wide ranging financial information to the Board and various committees.
Key areas of responsibility will include:
- Framework Execution & Policy Adherence - Uplift, develop and maintain the Valuation Governance Framework, policy and standards covering valuation frequency, methodology selection, price hierarchy, uncertainty ranges, tolerance thresholds, and event-driven revaluations.
- Independent Oversight & Challenge (Second Line) - Perform independent review of first-line valuations (from external valuers) challenge key assumptions (cash flows, cap rates, discount rates), comparables,
calibration, and sensitivity analysis
- Controls for Crediting Rates & Member Equit y - Partner with Finance/Unit Pricing to ensure valuations are correctly reflected in NAV and member prices; support incident management and analysis.
- Model Risk, Data Quality & Documentation - Maintain the valuation model inventory (spreadsheets, internal builds, vendor tools); ensure minimum standards for documentation, change control, and versioning.
- Reporting & Insights - Produce monthly/quarterly reporting for management and Committees: valuation status, uncertainty ranges, exceptions, event-driven revaluations, and control effectiveness.
- Risk, Compliance & Reviews - Support Internal/External Audit and APRA/ASIC reviews; manage evidence collation, action plans, and closure tracking.
Candidate Experience
Tertiary qualified with CA or CPA qualification desirable, we are seeking people with experience within either superannuation, corporate finance, valuation or investment management with robust oversight and analytical skills, critical thinking, decision making and eye for detail.
Strong written and verbal communication skills as well as the ability to communicate and influence effectively at all levels both internally and externally.
