Swan Reach Area School is seeking a passionate, innovative Science and Mathematics teacher for a permanent role with a focus on space science. Our school's unique location-adjacent to the Swan Reach Observatory and within the River Murray Dark Sky Reserve offers exceptional opportunities to inspire students through astronomy and STEM.

Swan Reach boasts some of Australia's clearest, darkest skies. We have the opportunity to connect students with real-world space science, leveraging strong partnerships with the Swan Reach Observatory to bring our curriculum to life.

Key Responsibilities





- Teach engaging Science and Mathematics to secondary students, emphasising space science
- Develop innovative learning experiences alongside observatory staff and scientific partners
- Create real-world learning links, including astronomical observation and STEM projects

Candidate Profile

- Passion for Science, Mathematics, and space science education
- Willingness to pioneer curriculum linked to our Dark Sky Reserve
- Solid relationship-building skills with students, staff, families, and community

What You'll Need

- Relevant teaching qualification and registration with the Teachers Registration of Board of South Australia - https://trb.sa.edu.au/Registering-to-Teach
- Demonstrated ability to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills with students, families and colleagues
