Description The role is responsible for supervising service technicians and managing day-to-day shop floor operations, ensuring the safe and high-quality execution of maintenance, testing, and repair of mechanical and hydraulic equipment, subsea tooling, and related assets.

Responsibilities

CORE FUNCTION

- Supervision of day-to-day activities for service technicians.
- Management of the work order system and oversight of technicians on the shop floor.
- Lead local operations teams in delegating work for assigned scopes.
- Oversee the use of asset and maintenance management systems to log equipment maintenance, current asset locations, and equipment certifications.
- Participate in project and engineering meetings relevant to assigned work scopes.
- Report job progress to the Operations Manager or Project Manager.
- Delegate work within the team and, if required, assign Subsea Technicians to day or night shifts.
- Interpret technical work instructions and engineering drawings, including general assembly, P&ID;, electrical and hydraulic schematics, and assembly procedures.
- Disassemble, inspect, maintain, repair, and reassemble equipment; troubleshoot, identify, and replace defective parts and components.
- Lead the safe, competent, and high-quality operation of equipment within assigned scopes.
- Perform comprehensive testing on equipment, including function testing, factory acceptance testing, and system integration testing.
- Maintain cleanliness of the work area, tools, and equipment, and perform routine workshop upkeep duties.
- Participate in Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives, including reporting non-conformances, cost of poor quality (COPQ), and adherence to the Management of Change (MOC) process.




- Assist with technical job data, including updates to drawings, schematics, OMMs, and related documentation.
- Provide product support and assist with maintenance, repair, installation, and commissioning activities.
- Interface with client representatives as required.
- Maintain credentials and complete required training through the company’s Learning Management System (SumTotal).
- Support the development and mentoring of junior technicians.
- Occasionally travel off-site for tool testing as requested by customers.
- Occasionally travel to offshore locations to perform work.
- Potentially undertake overseas travel to support operations when required.

General

- Promote a strong Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) culture at all times.
- Ensure that personnel understand and achieve the necessary health and safety performance standards associated with risks to people and equipment in their daily work.




- Ensure that business and HSE risk implications of integrity issues are clearly identified, assessed, and communicated to the Oceaneering Integrity Management Team and the client for consideration.
- Carry out work in accordance with the Company’s Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality Management Systems.
- Perform assigned tasks with due diligence in line with the Integrated Management Systems.
- Actively contribute to eliminating waste, promoting more environmentally friendly substances and practices, and supporting continuous environmental improvement.

Reporting Responsibilities

Qualifications

Essential

- Relevant trade qualification (e.g., Mechanical or Electrical).
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in subsea tooling within the Oil and Gas industry.
- Current COVID-19 vaccinations (required for offshore work).
- Strong mechanical and/or electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of ROV tooling and subsea infrastructure.
- Familiarity with safety standards and systems (e.g., Step Back 5x5, JSEA, HSEQ systems).

Desired
- Certificate IV in Fluid Power.
- Offshore experience in the Oil and Gas industry.
- BOSIET or FOET certification.
- Forklift licence.
- Supervisory experience leading a workshop team.
- Experience with maintenance management systems such as PeopleSoft, SAP, or similar.
