WHS Officer - Local Manufacturing Workshop
Drive workplace safety with a leading WA manufacturer supporting the mining industry!
Allied Recruitment is seeking a Work Health and Safety Officer to join a well-established manufacturing business based in Welshpool . This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in developing and maintaining a strong safety culture within a busy workshop setting.
Our client designs and manufactures specialised mobile equipment for the mining sector, supplying high-quality solutions to major operations across Australia.
The Role
Reporting to the Workshop Manager, you will take ownership of the company's WHS systems and compliance, while providing practical support to workshop operations. This role suits either an experienced Safety Officer or a motivated WHS professional looking to further develop their career.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain compliance with current WHS legislation, Codes of Practice and company procedures.
- Manage safety documentation, compliance registers and training records.
- Coordinate safety inductions for employees, contractors and visitors.
- Conduct workplace inspections, audits, hazard identification and risk assessments.
- Investigate incidents and coordinate corrective actions.
- Manage workers' compensation claims, injury management and Return to Work programs.
- Liaise with injured workers, medical providers, insurers and internal stakeholders.
- Facilitate toolbox meetings and support the Safety Committee.
- Monitor legislative changes and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Promote and maintain a positive safety culture across the business.
About You
- Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety (minimum).
- Current Australian Driver's Licence.
- Sound understanding of Australian WHS legislation.
- Strong administration and communication skills.
- Experience within manufacturing, mining, engineering or construction will be highly regarded.
- Ability to build positive working relationships across all levels.
Newly qualified WHS professionals with a proactive attitude and hands‑on experience within manufacturing, production or workshop environments are encouraged to apply.
