Role Description
This is a full-time Occupational Therapist role based in the Wollongong Area, offered as a hybrid position with some flexibility for work from home. The Occupational Therapist will assess clients’ functional abilities and needs, develop individualized treatment plans, and implement evidence-based interventions to promote independence and participation in daily activities.
Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting home and community visits, providing rehabilitation services, recommending assistive equipment and modifications, and documenting clinical assessments and progress notes. The role involves close collaboration with clients, families, and multidisciplinary team members to set goals, review outcomes,
and adjust therapy plans.
The Occupational Therapist will also contribute to service planning, participate in case meetings, and support education and advocacy around best practices in client-centered care.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated expertise in Occupational Therapy, including assessment, intervention planning, and client-centered practice.
- Sound understanding of Rehabilitation principles and functional capacity building across diverse client populations.
- Knowledge of Medicine relevant to occupational therapy practice, including general health considerations and clinical risk awareness.
- Strong Communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience or interest in Pediatrics, including supporting children and young people to achieve developmental and functional goals.
- Recognized qualification in Occupational Therapy and current skilled registration or eligibility for registration.
- Experience working in community, disability, or allied health settings is highly regarded.
- Ability to work autonomously, manage caseloads, and maintain accurate, timely documentation.
- Commitment to person-centered practice, cultural safety, and ongoing professional development.
