About the Branch - Attorney-General, including legal policy and courts - Youth Justice - Corrections - Violence Reduction. This role leads a team responsible for Courts and Attorney-General related policies within DPC’s Social Policy Group. The role requires an individual with strong policy skills, written communication, people management, stakeholder management and conceptual and analytical ability. Reporting to the Director, Justice Branch, you will lead and manage a team, and provide authoritative and expert advice to the Premier, Secretary and senior executives on relevant policies, programs, and issues relating to justice portfolios. You will also be responsible for initiating,leading and contributing to policy analyses and coordination processes to support the implementation of government policy in the portfolio.

About You

As our ideal candidate, you will bring:

- Ability to lead and manage the team to provide timely, clear, succinct and solutions-focused advice to the Premier, Secretary, senior executives and other key stakeholders on policy and programs.
- Highly developed conceptual, analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to identify emerging issues, assess complex policy,



operational and political considerations, and develop evidence-based options to support informed decision-making and effective outcomes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to influence decision-making through the delivery of clear, persuasive and audience-focused briefings, correspondence, presentations and strategic advice to senior executives, Ministers and key stakeholders.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement, consultation and influencing skills, with a demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships, negotiate outcomes and work collaboratively across government, senior leadership groups and external stakeholders to achieve strategic objectives.
- Strong people leadership and management capability, with a demonstrated ability to lead high-performing teams, foster an inclusive and collaborative culture, build organisational capability and drive accountability, engagement and performance. A relevant tertiary qualification in criminology, law, social policy or a related discipline is desirable, but not essential. This role is an ongoing position. This position is only open to applicants with relevant rights to work in Australia.
