About us

Independent Energy Systems (IES) is a Pilbara-based electrical contractor delivering industrial, instrumentation and renewable energy work across the region. We're a tight, capable crew that takes pride in doing the job properly and looking after our people. As the Pilbara's energy mix keeps growing, so does our workload - and we're looking for another local electrician to grow with us.

The role

This is a full-time, locally based role in Karratha - no fly-in fly-out. We're after a licensed sparky to join our team on projects and maintenance across three areas that keep our work varied and interesting:

Industrial -

installation, fault-finding and maintenance on plant, switchboards, motors, drives, cable and containment across resources and heavy industry sites.

Instrumentation -

installing, terminating, calibrating and commissioning field instruments,



control wiring and I/O.

Renewables -

solar PV, battery storage and hybrid power systems, from install through to commissioning.

You'll work alongside experienced tradespeople, so whether you're recently ticketed or have years under your belt, there's room to build your skills and take on responsibility.

What you'll need

WA Electrician's Licence (A-Grade Electrical Worker's Licence)

Construction Induction (White Card)

Current WA driver's licence

Based in Karratha, or willing to relocate to the area

A safety-first attitude and the ability to work well in a team

Willingness to work on Pilbara industrial and remote sites

Nice to have

Not essential - we'll help you get the tickets you're missing.

Instrumentation experience or qualifications

Solar PV / battery experience (CEC accreditation a bonus)

High Voltage switching

Working at Heights, Confined Space, EWP and other high-risk work tickets
