As a Maintenance Officer, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring our residents enjoy a safe, comfortable and well‑maintained environment. Maintenance & Service Delivery
- Complete a range of maintenance tasks safely and efficiently, including repairs, painting, minor building works and general handyman duties
- Carry out preventative maintenance programmes to ensure facilities and equipment remain in excellent condition
- Conduct fault finding and minor repairs to appliances and village assets
- Maintain buildings, grounds and common areas to a high standard
- Ensure tools and equipment are maintained and used safely
- Identify maintenance issues proactively and recommend repairs or replacement works where required
Resident Support & Customer Service
- Provide courteous and professional service to residents, visitors and contractors
- Support residents with maintenance‑related requests while respecting their dignity and privacy
- Build positive relationships and contribute to a welcoming village environment
- Uphold Anglicare’s values through all interactions
Administration & Compliance
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation
- Ensure work is completed in accordance with organisational policies and procedures
- Support after‑hours maintenance requirements when required, with time in lieu provided
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery
Safety & Workplace Culture
- Follow all workplace health and safety requirements and safe work practices
- Report hazards, incidents and risks in accordance with organisational processes
- Maintain a clean, secure and organised work environment
- Contribute to a respectful and inclusive workplace culture
What You'll Bring
You are practical, reliable and customer‑focused, with a genuine commitment to providing excellent service and maintaining high standards. You will also need:
- Experience in general building maintenance, handyman services or a related trade environment
- Basic knowledge of building maintenance, repairs and equipment
- Strong problem‑solving skills and practical approach to maintenance tasks
- Ability to prioritise work and manage multiple responsibilities
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Current NSW Driver’s Licence, good to have
- Desirable Certificate or qualification in maintenance, building services or a related field
- Experience working within retirement living, aged care or hospitality environments
