AWS Managed Services is designed to accelerate cloud adoption, simplifying deployment, migration, and management using automation and machine learning. We are looking for Operations Engineers to join our Managed Services team based in Sydney. This is an chance to join a world‑class team that is at the forefront of enhancing customers’ cloud support experience.

Key Job Responsibilities

- Operate the Managed Service platform and collaborate with internal service teams to meet our customers' individual needs for their infrastructure and application deployments.
- Troubleshoot application deployments, recreate customer issues, and build proof of concept applications. Apply advanced troubleshooting techniques to provide unique solutions to our customers' individual needs.
- Work on critical, highly complex customer problems that span multiple AWS services.
- Help build and maintain Cloud Formation templates,



and scripts to automate and deploy AWS resources and configuration changes.
- Collaborate and help build utilities and tools for internal use that enable you and your fellow AWS Engineers to operate safely at high speed and wide scale.
- Leverage day‑to‑day experiences to provide the voice of the customer to internal AWS teams.
- Drive customer communication during critical events.
- Learn and leverage AI technologies.
- Operations Engineer role is required to work in flexible shift hours for 24/7/365 operations.

Basic Qualifications

- Experience in AWS services.
- Bachelor’s degree or 4+ years of relevant technical position experience.
- Experience in system administration, troubleshooting any operating system (Linux and/or Windows), and networking (HTTP/s, TCP/IP, DNS, OSI model, routing, switching, firewalls, LAN/WAN, traceroute, iperf, dig, CURL or related).
- Knowledge of networking protocols such as HTTP, DNS and TCP/IP.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in cloud computing technologies.
- Experience designing, building, refactoring or operating large scale and impactful IT systems – either on premises or in the cloud.
- Experience in automation through DevOps scripting (e.g., shell, Python, Ruby,



PowerShell).
- Experience in database administration and strong troubleshooting skills (tuning and optimization, deadlocks, schema design) with any relational database engine (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server).
- Experience in oral and written communication.
- AWS or other cloud certification.
- Experience setting up, maintaining and coordinating automated patch and configuration management of production servers.
- Experience with SSM to manage resource health, automate deployment and maintenance of Linux and Windows servers.
- Experience in AI tooling for troubleshooting.
