About The Opportunity As the District Security Systems Advisor, you will manage the electronic security systems used across Murrumbidgee Local Health District, including access control, CCTV and duress alarm systems. You'll ensure these systems are planned, programmed, configured and networked effectively to support a secure healthcare environment, safeguard sensitive information, and comply with relevant regulatory and operational standards. Through a combination of technical expertise and proactive support, you will contribute directly to the safety and resilience of NSW Health's infrastructure and services across our diverse regional communities.
As the District Security Systems Advisor, you will be responsible for: Developing and maintaining a comprehensive Site Security System profile for all facilities, with accurate documentation including system configurations, network diagrams, change logs and maintenance records
Assessing the capability and capacity of electronic security systems to ensure they meet operational requirements
Configuring and programming electronic security systems—including access control, CCTV, duress and intrusion detection—in alignment with industry standards, NSW Health security policies and site-specific needs
Providing technical support through diagnostic assessments and troubleshooting to maintain system reliability and minimise downtime
Collaborating with contractors, vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure timely delivery, quality assurance and compliance with relevant standards
Delivering training and support to end users on the operation and functionality of installed security systems
Balancing competing demands from multiple stakeholders and projects, often under time or budget constraints, while maintaining high-quality and compliant service delivery
Collaborating effectively with ICT, Asset Management, Facilities, clinical staff and external vendors to implement and support security solutions that align with organisational goals and standards To find out more, please review the Position Description.
About You Our ideal candidate will demonstrate: Demonstrated technical expertise in electronic security systems, including the programming, configuration, installation and maintenance of access control, CCTV and duress alarm systems, within a healthcare or similarly complex environment
Proven experience in the integration and network configuration of electronic security systems, with demonstrated knowledge of IP networking, VLANs, switches, routers and firewalls
Demonstrated high-level analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues in high-pressure environments
Demonstrated ability to compile accurate, detailed and comprehensive system profiles and maintain thorough documentation, including configuration records, asset registers, plans, change logs and commissioning reports
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage confidently with stakeholders at all levels and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks, projects and priorities in a large, geographically distributed organisation A current NSW Security Licence (Class 2C), NSW Working with Children Check, National Police Check and unrestricted Class C driver's licence (P2 acceptable), with a willingness to travel across the District including overnight stays where required Why join MLHD?
