About Us:

Victory Minerals Pty Ltd is a successful gold producer based in the Victorian regional city of Ballarat, where we operate an underground mine and surface processing plant to produce gold from high grade ore.

Role:

We are currently seeking a Mill Maintenance Technician (Fitter/Fabricator) to join our gold processing team. Ballarat is a major centre, located just 100km from Melbourne with a population of over 100,000 people. The role represents a perfect opportunity for an experienced tradesperson to work in the mining industry while enjoying the work-life balance of being home every night.

As a Mill Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for the mechanical upkeep and condition of the Gold Processing Plant to meet production needs. The role will involve both field maintenance and workshop-based fabrication/rebuilds as well as modification projects to improve plant performance and efficiency.

Roster: 5:2, Monday to Friday

Hours: 10-hr shifts, 7am to 5pm

Your key responsibilities will be to:

- Maintain the plant in a safe and operable condition.
- Undertake preventative maintenance work.
- Repair crushers, conveyors, screens, jigs, pumps, pipes and other heavy process equipment.
- Design and fabricate current plant and equipment.
- Respond to breakdowns, including some A/H requirements.

To be successful for this role, you will demonstrate the following:
- Trade qualification in Mechanical Fitting or Fabricating (Boilermaking).
- Experience in mining or heavy industry.




- A proactive approach to safety and an understanding of heavy machinery.
- An acceptance to work outdoors in the elements.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to deal with multiple tasks in busy production settings.
- Acceptance to partake in an on-call roster (approx. 1 week in 5)
- Current manual drivers licence.

Applicants with the following additional qualifications and skills will be highly regarded:

- High Risk Work Licences - Dogging, EWP, Forklift, Crane.
- Experience in maintaining mineral processing plants or crushing & screening circuits
- Proficiency in the use of Oxy/acetylene, ARC, MIG and TIG welding on a variety of metals including steel and stainless steel.
