Position Overview
Target Business Services Position: Full Time – Permanent. Location: 10 Comserv Cl, West Gosford NSW 2250. Salary: $80k - $85k plus 12% superannuation. Our client, LL Frame & Truss (NSW) Pty Ltd, is a trusted supplier of precision‑engineered timber frames and trusses across NSW. Backed by the founder's 23+ years of experience in the industry, LL Frame & Truss has built a reputation for delivering quality, cost‑effective, and sustainable solutions to renowned builders. The company specialises in prefabricated timber wall frames, roof trusses, laminated veneer lumber, flooring systems and eaves packages, using advanced Pryda Engineering Software to ensure accuracy, compliance, and production efficiency. With a strong commitment to quality workmanship and reliable service, LL Frame & Truss continues to expand its manufacturing operations throughout NSW. The client is currently seeking an experienced Wood Machinist to join its production team.
Key Responsibilities
- Study production drawings, work orders and specifications to determine machining requirements and product dimensions.
- Determine appropriate tooling, machine settings and operational sequences for efficient timber processing.
- Set up and adjust woodworking machinery for cutting, planing, shaping, drilling, profiling and sanding timber components.
- Operate woodworking machines to manufacture timber frames, truss components, flooring systems and other engineered timber products to required specifications.
- Inspect finished components to verify dimensions, accuracy, and quality, making adjustments where necessary.
- Assemble and fasten timber frame components and other prefabricated timber products as required during the manufacturing process.
- Carry out routine maintenance, cleaning and safety checks on woodworking machinery and equipment.
- Monitor material usage and minimise waste while maintaining production efficiency.
- Maintain a safe and organised work environment in accordance with workplace health and safety procedures.
- Work collaboratively with supervisors and production staff to ensure manufacturing schedules and customer delivery timeframes are achieved.
Skills & Qualifications
- AQF Certificate III in Wood Machining, Carpentry, Joinery or a closely related trade qualification, or equivalent.
- Minimum 1 year of full-time work experience as a Wood Machinist or in a similar timber manufacturing role.
- Demonstrated experience operating industrial woodworking machinery and equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret production drawings, cutting lists and technical specifications.
- Sound knowledge of timber materials, machining processes and quality control procedures.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate and high‑quality workmanship.
- Good problem‑solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a production team.
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements within a manufacturing environment.
About the Successful Applicant
You will be required to work effectively within a team setting while maintaining high standards of accuracy, quality and productivity. Previous experience in timber manufacturing or prefabricated timber frame and truss production will be highly regarded.
