Teacher Special Education - Canley Heights Public School (0000BBL1)

Canley Heights Public School is located south‑west of Sydney within the Fairfield local government area. The school has a student population of approximately 540, including 40 preschool children, and 28 students attending inclusive education classes supporting learners with Autism and Intellectually Moderate (IO) disabilities. The student body is culturally and linguistically diverse, with approximately 92% of students coming from language backgrounds other than English. The school offers significant EAL/D, community language programs, targeted literacy and numeracy initiatives, and high‑quality technology in every classroom.

Responsibilities

- Approval to teach special education and/or experience teaching students with diverse learning needs such as autism, moderate intellectual disability and complex behaviours.
- Demonstrated ability to collaboratively develop,



maintain and review Individual Education Plans and Behaviour Support Plans with the proven capacity to use data to deliver and evaluate responsive, high‑quality, differentiated literacy and numeracy programs for all students.
- High quality classroom practice and management skills which create an inclusive, positive learning environment, enabling all students to connect, succeed and thrive.
- Well‑developed communication skills with the ability to work flexibly as part of a cooperative and supportive staff to build strong relationships with students and the community.

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
