The Opportunity
Sekuro is looking for two Network Security Engineers on 6 month day rate contracts. You must be a seasoned netowork security professional who can operate autonomously across two critical technology stacks: Zscaler (SASE) and Akamai (WAF/CDN). You will be embedded with our client's technical teams, providing hands-on administration, policy design, troubleshooting, and tuning to ensure production environments remain secure and performant.
Key Responsibilities
Zscaler
- Hands-on administration and engineering across ZIA and ZPA, with ZDX experience considered a bonus
- Policy design and tuning, including URL and app filtering, SSL inspection, DLP and CASB policy
- App segmentation, connector deployment, and PAC file management
- Troubleshooting live, user-impacting issues and managing Zscaler support cases end to end
- Integration with identity providers and broader SASE architecture patterns
Akamai
- Configuration and tuning of App and API Protector or Kona Site Defender
- Management of Bot Manager, rate controls, and WAF rule sets
- CDN and delivery configuration, including Property Manager and certificate handling
- Reviewing attack telemetry and adjusting protections in a way that safeguards production traffic without introducing disruption
About You
You are a hands-on security engineer with deep, demonstrable expertise across both Zscaler and Akamai platforms,
comfortable working independently in complex enterprise environments. You bring robust troubleshooting instincts, a methodical approach to policy tuning, and the confidence to manage vendor support cases and make production changes with minimal risk.
Requirements
- Proven, hands-on experience administering and engineering Zscaler ZIA and ZPA in enterprise environments
- Demonstrated experience configuring and tuning Akamai App and API Protector or Kona Site Defender
- Strong understanding of WAF, CDN, and SASE architecture and how they integrate with identity and network security
- Experience managing vendor support cases and resolving live production issues
- Ability to work autonomously and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Availability for a 2-day per week engagement, based in Melbourne
Why Sekuro?
