Merri-bek Libraries Team Leader Brunswick and Campbell Turnbull Libraries and Children’s Services Brunswick and Campbell Turnbull Libraries Permanent Full Time Band 6 $102K – $111K + Super Closing Date: 05/08/2026 11:30 pm About The Role In performing this role, your day-to-day responsibilities will be to manage effective library operations of the Brunswick and Campbell Turnbull Libraries, engage with our diverse community to provide high-quality customer service, and foster an environment that empowers and motivates both the Brunswick Libraries’ and the Children’s and Youth Services teams. As part of the Library Leadership Group, this role contributes to the library’s strategic and operational planning, policies, systems and procedures.

The Team

Leader will also lead the development, delivery and evaluation of a range of resources, programs and promotions that respond to the needs of children and young people in the Merri-bek community.

Skills And Experience Required To Perform The Role Excellent team building skills.

Demonstrated ability to resolve problems using creativity and originality when required and to defuse potential conflict. Demonstrated ability to achieve continuous improvement and a proactive approach in initiating new or enhanced programs and services. Demonstrated ability to plan, implement, manage and deliver effective programs within agreed timelines.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Demonstrated experience, knowledge and ability in the area of services for children and youth.

Excellence in service provision to all sections of the community.

Degree in Library and Information Services or similar field with relevant work experience, or through lesser formal qualifications with relevant work skills and experience.





Eligibility for professional membership of the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA).

A current Working With Children Check.

Demonstrated understanding of Child safety and wellbeing requirements and how this applies in the public library setting.
