About the role Mater Hospital Brisbane is seeking a Nurse Practitioner – Urology to join our team on a full-time, maximum-term contract for 11 months. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role within one of Queensland's leading urology services, providing advanced clinical care across inpatient and ambulatory settings while improving access to timely specialist care. Working alongside highly experienced urologists and a multidisciplinary team,
you will help reduce outpatient wait times, enhance patient flow, and deliver evidence-based, patient-centred care for people with a broad range of urological conditions, including urological oncology, kidney stones, bladder dysfunction,
benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), urinary incontinence and complex reconstructive conditions. Mater's Urology service is recognised for its collaborative approach and use of advanced minimally invasive and robotic surgical techniques, making this an outstanding opportunity to contribute to an innovative and growing specialist service.
Salary range: $79.47 - $81.45 per hour plus superannuation

[https://www.mater.org.au/group/careers/working-with-mater] What you’ll be doing As the Nurse Practitioner – Urology, you will provide advanced clinical leadership and expert patient-centred care across the urology service by:
Managing a dedicated caseload autonomously while ensuring timely access to specialist care Performing comprehensive patient assessments, diagnosing and treating patients within your endorsed scope of practice Providing expert clinical consultation across inpatient and ambulatory urology services Developing and implementing evidence-based management plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team Educating and supporting patients,
families and healthcare professionals on complex urological conditions and treatments Coordinating referrals, discharge planning and ongoing care to enhance patient outcomes and continuity of care Acting as a patient advocate, ensuring informed decision-making and delivering holistic, person-centred care Contributing to service innovation, quality improvement initiatives and the implementation of best-practice models of care About you You are an experienced and cooperative Nurse Practitioner who is passionate about delivering exceptional patient care and advancing clinical practice. To be successful in this role, you will have:
Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) Endorsement as a Nurse Practitioner, or eligibility to obtain endorsement with the NMBA A minimum of five years' experience within your relevant clinical specialty, ideally with experience in urology or a related specialty Advanced clinical assessment, diagnostic and decision-making skills Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships across multidisciplinary teams A commitment to evidence-based practice, innovation and continuous quality improvement A passion for improving patient access to specialist services and delivering outstanding patient-centred care Why join us?
