Operations Manager — Battery Storage

Melbourne, Victoria | Hybrid | Full-time A battery storage manufacturer that has recently moved from product development into commercialisation is scaling its Australian operations and needs an Operations Manager to own everything between contract signing and successful project delivery.

This is a newly created role and it will become the operational backbone of the business. Sitting between business development, legal and project delivery, you will coordinate the full delivery process once a customer commits and build the processes and systems the business needs to scale. It is not a sales or engineering role. It is an operations, coordination and project delivery position for someone who is organised, methodical and good at keeping lots of moving parts on track.

What you will do

- Own project delivery from contract signing through to installation and commissioning
- Review supplier agreements and commercial documentation and coordinate with internal and external legal teams
- Manage customer onboarding documentation
- Coordinate across engineering, manufacturing, logistics, product and installation teams
- Act as the main operational contact for customers throughout delivery
- Build operational processes and drive continuous improvement as delivery volumes grow

What we are looking for





Experience across three areas rather than deep specialism in one:

- Commercial and legal: contract reviews, NDAs, supplier agreements and working with legal teams
- Project management: coordinating multiple stakeholders, managing delivery and driving timelines and outcomes
- Operations: managing cross-functional teams, robust organisation, customer communication and process improvement

You will likely come from an hardware manufacturer, renewable energy or product manufacturing business, or an operations and delivery role supporting a business development team. Experience delivering physical products, including manufacturing, factory acceptance testing, logistics, installation and commissioning, is highly desirable. Software and SaaS-only backgrounds are less suited to this role given the different delivery model.

Nice to have

- Battery storage (BESS) or energy infrastructure experience
- Exposure to scaling operations in a growing business

On offer

- $160,000 to $175,000 package including super
- Hybrid working, typically 2 to 3 days a week in the office
- A newly created role with real ownership and a clear path to grow into a Team Lead, Operations Manager or Director-level position as the operations team builds out
