Charge Radiation Therapist - Icon Cancer Centre North Lakes

Due to an upcoming parental leave period, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Radiation Therapist to join our high‑performing North Lakes team in a Charge Radiation Therapist leadership role.
Provide leadership and management in the planning and treatment units at our comprehensive cancer treatment centre in North Lakes.
- Mentor our Senior and Base Grade RTs, with support from our experienced Clinical Lead RT and Site Manager
- Two Varian TrueBeam linear accelerators, IDENTIFY Surface Guidance, Siemens CT scanners, Eclipse Treatment Planning System and ARIA Oncology Information System.
- Access to on‑site radiation oncology clinical trials via our research unit
- Comprehensive Stereotactic program
- Excellent REM, 5 Weeks Annual Leave, PD Days/Allowance
- 12‑Month Contract, Full-Time (9‑day fortnight) – North Lakes, Qld
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership, guidance and support to Radiation Therapists to fulfil their responsibilities.
- Support the Clinical Lead RT in the day‑to‑day operational management of the planning and treatment units.
- Ensure the operational and administrative functions that relate to the relevant unit, including staffing and equipment management, are undertaken in an effective, efficient manner.
- Act as a technical resource and mentor, providing leadership and support to junior staff.
- Apply knowledge and experience to make timely and accurate technical decisions.
- Lead and support change management initiatives and the implementation of associated processes.
- Ensure adherence to department protocols and procedures to deliver a safe and productive service with exceptional patient care.
- Provide recommendations for service quality improvements to the Clinical Lead RT.
- Foster a high‑performance culture focused on patient‑centred care, collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Promote and support education, research and professional development to the Radiation Therapist team.
- Support the orientation of new staff and manage the supervision and instruction of students, interns and radiation therapists.
Skills & Experience
- Proven technical proficiency in radiation therapy treatment planning and delivery.
- Previous leadership, supervisory or senior‑level experience with demonstrated people‑management and mentoring capability.
- Experience with the ARIA Oncology Information System, particularly Eclipse treatment planning and plan checking, is highly desirable.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills that inspire the trust and confidence required to build strong relationships with all internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated understanding of, and a commitment to, the delivery of high‑quality radiation therapy services.
- Ability to adhere to clinical protocols and procedures.
- Understanding of the service delivery model within the private healthcare sector.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Qualifications
- Current AHPRA Registered Radiation Therapist with QLD Radiation Use Licence.
