Join St John of God Burwood Hospital, a leading 95‑bed private mental health facility delivering specialised inpatient, day patient and outpatient services. Our multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, psychologists, mental health nurses and allied health professionals provide personalised, recovery‑focused care to support meaningful outcomes for every individual.
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Mental Health Registered Nurse to provide high‑quality care and support to individuals across a range of mental health presentations. The position is available on a full‑time basis working day shifts, with part‑time opportunities available for the right candidate.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care in keeping with the registered nurse classification.
- Assist in the planning, implementation and evaluation of day‑to‑day mental health and basic physical care requirements of patients.
- Participate in mental health assessments, risk assessment and management, alcohol and other drug assessments, history taking and develop comprehensive nursing care plans.
- Ensure patients receive the highest level of care and treatment in line with contemporary clinical nursing practice.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and protect personal information at all times.
- Adhere to and demonstrate hospital policies, procedures and standards through work practices.
Qualifications
- Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse.
- Recent mental health nursing experience.
- Solid interpersonal and relationship‑building skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to ongoing education and professional development.
- Patient‑centred care with a focus on patients at the core of everything done.
Benefits
- Salary $75,381 to $105,865 (pro‑rata basis if part time) plus 12% superannuation.
- Permanent full‑time position working 38 hours per week.
