Your new company

Hays are currently working with local councils North and South of the River to recruit for Parks Operators for the maintenance of public parks and gardens, including weeding, planting, mulching, watering, and spraying plants and trees

This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the maintenance and presentation of local parks, verges and public spaces within the community.

Your new role

As a General Hand, you'll support the day-to-day upkeep of streetscapes and public open spaces across the council area. Working outdoors as part of a team, your duties will include:

- Parks and gardens maintenance
- Verge mowing and brush cutting
- Litter collection and general cleaning of public areas
- Assisting with traffic management set-up
- Operating council vehicles and equipment
- General labouring duties as required

What you'll need to succeed

- MR or HR (Essential)
- White Card (Essential)
- Chainsaw Ticket (desirable)
- Basic Traffic Control (desirable)
- Cert III in Horticulture / Turf or equivilant (desirable)




- Spray Ticket (desirable)
- Prior experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping, or horticulture
- Ability to operate and maintain gardening tools and equipment safely
- Reliable, hardworking and team-oriented attitude
- Physically fit and capable of manual work
