Description The Payroll Officer will be responsible for:
- End-to-end processing of monthly and fortnightly payrolls
- Interpretation and application of relevant Awards, Enterprise Agreements and payroll legislation
- Processing employee commencements, terminations and payroll changes
- Management of leave, superannuation and payroll deductions
- Responding to payroll-related queries from employees and internal stakeholders
- Payroll reconciliations and reporting activities
- Ensuring payroll compliance with Fair Work, taxation and legislative requirements
- Assisting with payroll projects,
audits and continuous improvement initiatives
Profile The successful Payroll Officer should have:
- Previous experience in a Payroll Officer role, ideally within a large or complex organisation
- Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, awards and enterprise agreements
- Experience working with high-volume payroll processing
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet strict deadlines
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Exposure to payroll systems, ideally Preceda
