Role Description This part-time remote role as Payroll Specialist / HR Coordinator is responsible for managing payroll processes and supporting core human resources functions. Day-to-day tasks include processing payroll accurately and on schedule, maintaining payroll records, and coordinating with finance on compensation-related matters.
The role also involves assisting with benefits administration, supporting employee onboarding and offboarding, and helping maintain HR policies and documentation.
The Payroll
Specialist / HR Coordinator will respond to employee inquiries, support employee relations activities, and ensure compliance with applicable employment regulations. Collaboration with leadership to improve HR processes and support a positive, inclusive work culture is an important aspect of the position.
Qualifications
- Robust HR Management and Human Resources (HR) skills, with experience supporting day-to-day HR operations.
- Proficiency in Perks Administration, including enrollment, changes, and communication with team members.
- Ability to support Employee Relations, addressing questions and concerns with professionalism and confidentiality.
- Knowledge of HR Policies, recordkeeping, and basic employment law compliance.
- Experience with payroll processing, HRIS or payroll software, and basic accounting or finance coordination.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage deadlines in a remote environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and a collaborative, service-oriented mindset.
- Prior experience in a startup or small organization environment is beneficial; relevant certification or coursework in HR or payroll is a plus.
