The Role
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced AI/ML Engineer to provide technical leadership across cutting-edge programs. You will support the development of AI/ML capability, influence future policy and certification approaches, and work closely with engineering teams to deliver innovative solutions within secure, mission-critical environments.
Your duties will include:
- Develop AI/ML requirements and provide technical expertise across complex capability programs.
- Design, develop and evaluate machine learning models using modern AI frameworks and engineering best practices.
- Represent the organisation at AI/ML working groups, conferences and technical forums.
- Support the development of AI/ML certification policies and technical governance for future autonomous systems.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to integrate AI/ML solutions into complex platforms.
Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience developing machine learning models using Python and frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, Scikit-learn or OpenCV.
- Experience working with complex datasets including imagery, video, sensor, telemetry or time-series data.
- Strong understanding of the end-to-end machine learning lifecycle, including model development, validation, testing, deployment and performance monitoring.
- Experience applying modern software engineering practices including version control, automated testing, documentation and Agile delivery.
- Ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary engineering teams in secure or safety-critical environments.
- Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
