About the role

Griffith Camera House is seeking a Photographic Camera & Video Sales Person to join our team in a part-time capacity. Based in Griffith, NSW, this role is perfect for someone with a passion for photography and videography who enjoys helping customers find the right equipment for their needs and print their images. You will be providing expert advice and delivering exceptional customer service to photography enthusiasts, professionals, and beginners alike.

What you'll be doing

- Greeting customers and assessing their photography and videography needs to recommend suitable products and services
- Demonstrating cameras, videos, lenses, tripods and other photographic gear to customers
- Providing knowledgeable advice on a range of cameras, videos and action cameras product specifications, features and compatibility
- Providing services of scanning of photos, slides and negatives and restoration using photoshop and AI software
- Providing advice on selecting frames for photos, certificates and artwork
- Processing, scanning and printing of films
- Processing sales transactions accurately and efficiently using point-of-sale systems
- Building and maintaining positive relationships with customers to encourage repeat business
- Keeping the sales floor organised, stocked and creating visual displays
- Handling customer inquiries via phone and email with professionalism and promptness
- Staying up to date with current products, industry trends and competitor offerings
- Assisting with stock management and inventory checks as required
- Achieving sales targets and contributing to the overall success of the store

What we're looking for

- Genuine passion and interest in photography and videography and creation of social media
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with diverse customers
- Product knowledge of cameras, lenses, tripods,



and other photographic accessories or willingness to develop this knowledge quickly
- Sales experience in a retail environment, ideally in photography, electronics or specialist retail
- Ability to explain technical specifications in clear, accessible language to customers of varying expertise levels
- Competence with point-of-sale systems and basic computer skills
- Excellent customer service orientation with a focus on meeting customer needs
- Reliability and the ability to work flexible part-time hours including weekend shifts
- Attention to detail and organisational skills
- Knowledge of software including Photoshop, Google Gemini, Chatgpt, Office 365.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn and develop your expertise
