About this Position:

As a Plumber Property Maintenance, you will play a key role in maintaining and improving Council owned buildings, facilities and infrastructure. This hands on position is responsible for delivering a broad range of plumbing installation, maintenance, repair, inspections and fault finding services to ensure council assets remain safe, functional and compliant. The successful candidate will be committed to delivering high quality workmanship, excellent customer service and safe work practices while ensuring all plumbing activities comply with relevant legislation, Australian standards and Council policies.

What we trust you to deliver:

- Plumbing Maintenance and Repairs: Perform preventative and reactive plumbing maintenance on Council Buildings and facilities. Diagnose and repair faults in water, sewer, stormwater, gas and drainage systems to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.
- Technical Investigations and testing:



Conduct technical investigations, inspections and testing of plumbing systems to ensure compliance and operational efficiency including TMV's and check valves.
- Resource Management: Manage tools, materials, and equipment efficiently. Ensure resources are used appropriately and maintained in positive working order to support operational readiness.
- Customer Interaction: Deliver professional customer interactions and provide timely updates to stakeholders during planned and unplanned works.
- Work Health and Safety: Follow defined Work Health and Safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken to ensure own safety and that of others in the workplace.

What you will need to be successful:

- Certificate III Trade qualification in Plumbing
- Current Class C drivers Licence
- General Construction Induction Card (White Card)

Desirable:

- Current Class Medium Rigid (MR) Licence
- Enter and Work in Confined Spaces - RIIWH202E (have or willing to obtain)
- Work safely in the vicinity of live electrical apparatus as a non-electrical worker certificate (have or willing to obtain)
- Implement traffic control plans (IMP) (have or willing to obtain)
- Install Trench Support - RIICCM210E or similar (have or willing to obtain)
- Work Safely at Heights – RIIWHS204E or similar (have or willing to obtain)




- Commission and Maintain Backflow Prevention Devices - CPCPWT4022 or similar (have or willing to obtain)
- Operate a drain cleaning system - MSMSS00019 (have or willing to obtain)

Full position description:

Full Time: 76 hours per fortnight

Salary: From $1,353.60 to $1,556.64 per week Trades Allowance of $210.00 per week superannuation

Conditions of Employment: Conditions of employment are in the Local Government (State) Award and relevant Council policy, procedures and agreements.

Pre-employment Screening: Prior to employment, there will be a series of pre-employment checks that will include health assessments (such as functional fitness, audio, drug testing), validation of right to work in Australia, validation of qualifications and licences, psychometric assessments and referee checks.

Immunisation Program: Council has an immunisation program to provide employees with vaccinations against known health risks associated with their respective duties and to identify any exposure to products that may affect an employee's health, fitness and wellbeing. This position has been identified as a risk to the employee and as such the successful applicant/s will be required to participate in the immunisation program and it is the applicant's responsibility to have undertaken relevant immunisation/s prior to commencement with Council.
