About us The Department of Treasury and Finance is at the centre of Government decision-making. As the principal economic and financial advisor, we provide leadership and strategic advice and influence to support the delivery of services and outcomes for the benefit of Western Australia.

What we do is integral to the Government’s decision-making processes about where and how to spend taxpayer’s money to ensure Western Australians have access to quality services on a financially sustainable basis.

We lead procurement and leverage our buying power to secure products and services for government, achieving value for money for WA.

We collect revenue to fund government services and administer payment of grants and subsidies to the WA community.

The work area

This role sits within the Wages Policy team in the Economic Business Unit. The Wages team is a small, highly responsive and committed team that provides quantitative and policy support concerning the Government’s wages policy framework to promote financially sustainable and fair wage and industrial conditions outcomes across the public sector. The team plays a central role in shaping the Wages Policy and works in partnership with agencies to provide evidenced-based, high quality policy and costing advice on a range of workforce initiatives to support decision‑making and the delivery of public sector workforce priorities.

Are you exceptional analyst and communicator who can turn complex information into clear advice, critically evaluate proposals and financial costings and provide trusted recommendations to support strategic decision-making? We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic person to join us and make a difference for Western Australia. As a Principal Analyst, you will:

- assist the Assistant Director of the Wages Policy team to provide quantitative and policy support to promote financially sustainable outcomes for public sector wages and conditions;
- review costings from public sector agencies for industrial bargaining items under the Government’s Wages Policy; and
- work closely with public sector agencies to provide high-quality quantitative analysis and written advice to support industrial bargaining matters and lead key tasks and processes.

We currently have one (1) permanent full-timeposition available for filling within the Wages Policy team.
