This permanent part-time role (21.45 hours per week) is based on the Gold Coast and offers the opportunity to work in a fast‑paced, collaborative and rewarding environment.
The Safer Schoolies Initiative delivers a large‑scale response for school leavers, working with nine Queensland Government agencies, community partners, and the City of Gold Coast. Your role includes planning and coordinating critical support services, managing logistics, and collaborating with stakeholders to ensure the event runs smoothly while enhancing the safety of young people and reducing community disruption.
In this hands‑on role, you'll develop event plans, oversee systems for risk management, and manage on‑the‑ground operations during Schoolies Week. You'll also play a key role in ensuring compliance with Queensland's Child Safe Organisations Act 2024 and fostering relationships with stakeholders. This position involves flexibility during peak periods, including on‑site work outside standard office hours. Time‑off‑in‑lieu will be provided to ensure you can recharge after event delivery.
What You'll Be Doing
- Plan and coordinate support services, including logistics schedules, operational plans, risk registers, and contingency strategies for the Gold Coast Schoolies response.
- Collaborate with government agencies, community organisations, and partners to achieve shared outcomes.
- Ensure stakeholders meet due diligence under Queensland's Child Safe Organisations Act 2024 and provide necessary training and awareness.
- Oversee on‑site logistics and respond to emerging issues during Schoolies Week.
- Manage project budgets, prepare presentations, evaluate processes, and develop recommendations for improvement.
