About the Role

Westbourne Grammar School is seeking enthusiastic Swim Teachers to join the Westbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre (WSAC) team. In this role, you will deliver high-quality swimming lesson programs that develop aquatic water safety skills for children and adults, inspire confidence in the water and reflect the School’s values.

Working as part of a progressive and supportive aquatic team, you will maintain thorough knowledge of WSAC swimming programs, educational trends and industry developments. Swim Teachers act as positive role models and inspire the Westbourne community to ‘think like a hero’ within the Aquatic Centre.

This role is well suited to those looking to start or grow a career in the aquatic industry. We are willing to support on-the-job training and development once you have completed the swim teaching qualification course. It is also an excellent prospect for students studying teaching to gain hands‑on experience developing children’s skills in a leading independent school environment.

About You

- Enthusiasm for swimming, water safety and developing aquatic skills in children and adults




- A completed swim teaching qualification or willingness to undertake the course with our support
- Strong communication skills and the ability to engage students of varying ages and abilities
- A positive, energetic attitude and commitment to being a role model within the school community
- Availability across a variety of program times and hours
- A current Working with Children Check (WWCC)

Key responsibilities include:

- Delivering WSAC swimming lesson programs to children and adults across all ability levels
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of swimming programs, educational trends and industry developments
- Creating a safe, encouraging and engaging learning environment for all participants
- Acting as a positive role model and ambassador for the Westbourne community
- Liaising with the WSAC team and school PE and Sport departments to support program delivery
- Maintaining accurate records and ensuring all safety and compliance requirements are met
