Overview
Elevation Secondary College is recruiting high quality, evidence-based practitioners for the 2027 school year. The school is located in Melbourne's northern growth corridor and serves communities including Aston and Highlands Estates in Craigieburn, Greenvale and Mickleham. The campus opened in 2020 and now supports over 1200 students from Year 7–12.

School Vision
Elevation Secondary College is an outward-facing school that focuses on improving student learning, social-emotional outcomes and educational attainment for all students. The school emphasises academic excellence, orderly learning environments, inclusiveness and strong opportunities for students.
The college offers a broad, rigorous academic program with a knowledge-rich curriculum. Teachers engage students in challenging lessons that promote thinking, effort and rigour. Professional Learning Culture

Selection Criteria
SC1 Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum, including the ability to teach literacy and numeracy and respond to student learning needs.
SC2 Demonstrated experience in planning high-impact teaching strategies, guided by how students learn, and evaluating the impact of programs on student growth.
SC3 Demonstrated experience in monitoring and assessing student learning, using data to inform teaching practice and providing feedback to students and parents.
SC4 Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to establish collaborative relationships with students, parents, colleagues and the broader school community to support learning, wellbeing and engagement.
SC5 Demonstrated behaviours consistent with Department values and commitment to reflective practice and ongoing professional learning.
SC6 Outstanding professional and personal attributes, including perseverance, humility, collaboration and an improvement focus, with a balance of high expectations and inclusivity.
Role
The classroom teacher classification includes two salary ranges (Range 1 and Range 2). The primary focus is planning, preparation and teaching to achieve specific student outcomes. Teachers engage in critical reflection and inquiry to improve knowledge and skills and effectively engage students.
As experience grows, classroom teachers may undertake additional duties aligned with salary range, qualifications and experience.
Classroom Teacher Range 2
Range 2 teachers play a significant role in improving student performance and outcomes aligned with the school strategic plan and state priorities. They contribute to policy development and school priorities and focus on increasing staff knowledge of high-quality instruction to define quality teaching practice. Range 2 teachers will be expected to:
- Have the content knowledge and pedagogical practice to meet diverse learning needs
- Model exemplary classroom practice and mentor/coach other teachers to engage in reflection and expand capacity
- Provide expert advice on content, processes and strategies that shape professional learning
- Supervise and train one or more student teachers
- Assist staff to use student data to inform teaching approaches and achieve targets for student learning outcomes
Classroom Teacher Range 1
Range 1 teachers focus on developing skills with structured guidance from higher-level colleagues, planning, preparation and teaching to achieve outcomes. They teach a range of classes, are accountable for program delivery, and may supervise student teachers. Range 1 teachers participate in school policy and program development and support priority implementation. New entrants receive mentoring and professional development to integrate curriculum, assessment and pedagogy. They plan and teach student groups under guidance and may assist in policy development, project teams and co-curricular activities. They are responsible for teaching their own classes and may support other school activities.
Responsibilities
The role may include but is not limited to:
- Direct teaching of groups and individual students
- Contributing to curriculum development, implementation and evaluation
- Undertaking related classroom teaching and organizational duties as directed
- Participating in parent/teacher meetings, staff meetings, camps and excursions
- Undertaking other non-teaching supervisory duties
Who May Apply
Teachers currently registered or eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching and qualified to teach and/or have demonstrated experience in the specified curriculum area.

Qualification Requirements
To be eligible for employment, transfer or promotion in the principal or teacher class:
- Provisional or full registration approved by the Victorian Institute of Teaching
- Postgraduate-level initial teacher education program completed on or after 1 January 2024 must be accredited by a state/territory authority and satisfy AITSL standards
- If graduating from a Victorian ITE program after 1 July 2016, must demonstrate LANTITE requirements
