Enemix are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior/Lead/Principal Protection Engineer to join our client that operates within the T&D; and Renewable sectors. This role focuses on the design, implementation, and maintenance of protection systems for electrical substations and transmission-level utility projects. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in electrical engineering, a strong understanding of utility systems, and a commitment to ensuring the reliability and safety of power transmission infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement protection systems for electrical substations and high-voltage transmission networks.
- Conduct system studies, fault analysis, and relay coordination to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, design engineers, and field technicians, to deliver utility projects on time and within scope.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices in the design and operation of protection systems.
- Prepare technical documentation, including protection settings, schematics, and reports.
- Provide technical support and training to internal teams and external stakeholders as needed.
- Stay updated on advancements in protection technologies and integrate innovative solutions into projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience in protection engineering, particularly in electrical substations and transmission-level systems.
- Strong knowledge of protection relays, control systems, and fault analysis.
- Familiarity with utility projects and industry standards such as IEEE, IEC, and NERC.
- Proficiency in using engineering software and tools for system modeling and analysis.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively in a team setting.
