About the position

The School of Nursing and Midwifery (SNM) Clinical Academic Coordinator provides leadership in the coordination, monitoring, and continuous improvement of undergraduate clinical placements, while also contributing to the School's scholarly activities. Working as part of a small team, the Clinical Academic Coordinator is responsible for ensuring high-quality clinical placement experiences that support student learning and meet course requirements. The role actively promotes SNM undergraduate and postgraduate programs by developing and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including academic staff, industry partners, clinical placement providers, and professional bodies.

Duties will include but are not limited to:

- Reporting to the Coordinator – Professional Experience Practice, will have oversight of placements within the nursing and midwifery disciplines.
- Identify and source opportunities for students to experience creative and immersive clinical placements that promote interprofessional collaboration and community engagement.
- Establish, develop, and maintain high-quality strategic partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to support the undergraduate clinical placement portfolio, consistent with the Partner of Choice Framework and good partnership brokering practice.
- Work with the Associate Dean, Domestic Partnerships, Coordinator – Professional Experience Practice, Discipline Leads,



Course Coordinators and Site Coordinators to initiate and develop strategies aimed at ensuring annual placement targets are met.
- Represent the interests of the School of Nursing and Midwifery in key internal and external forums relating to student placements.

Skills and Experience

To be considered for this position, you will have:

- Registered or eligible to register as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- A master’s degree in nursing/midwifery (or progressing toward) or related discipline or equivalent accreditation and standing recognised by the University/profession as appropriate for the relevant discipline areas.
- Ability to contribute to high level planning, organisation and monitoring of clinical placement activities.
- Current or recent experience in clinical nursing/midwifery and clinical teaching environments.
- Demonstrated ability to build rapport, positively influence and effectively engage with a range of stakeholders in complex problem solving and negotiation.
- Excellent computer literacy and sound knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel).
